Asher Kluthe

Asher Boone Kluthe, aged 46, passed away in Carthage, Missouri, on June 10, 2024. Born on November 3, 1977, in Springfield, Missouri, Asher entered the world as a big baby, weighing 12 pounds 2 ounces. His larger-than-life presence was a defining characteristic throughout his entire life.

Asher was born to Daniel Mark Kluthe and Rachel Ann Larson Williams. He was preceded in death by his father, Dan. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Mertens Kluthe; his cherished children, daughter Lily and son Levi; his stepsons, Kurry Mertens, Jory and Brianna Mertens with granddaughters Amelia, Jackie, and Clara; his mother, Rev. Rachel Williams, and her husband and Asher’s stepfather, Rev. Steve Williams, of Florissant, Missouri; his brothers, John Kluthe and wife Brandy Garrett Kluthe of Hampton, New Jersey, Colby Kluthe of Joplin, Missouri; and his sister, Sydney Williams of Florissant, Missouri.








Asher attended elementary school in Halfway, Missouri, and Vestavia Hills, Alabama, middle school in Germantown, Tennessee, and high school in Brunswick and Valley Park, Missouri. After high school, Asher joined the US Army, proudly serving his country with dedication and honor.

In his professional life, Asher found his calling in sales, where he thrived. He loved the art of the sale and deeply valued the connections he formed with his customers and clients. His charisma and larger-than-life personality made him a natural in his chosen field.

Asher’s interests were as diverse as his talents. Asher loved the Lord and led his family to church at Risen Ranch Cowboy Church. He was passionate about family; his children and grandchildren were the first of his daily priorities. Asher would be alongside Kat in gardening, canning, beekeeping, and maintaining the farm. He loved working on cars and frequently took on home renovation projects. Asher's determination was evident in everything he did, whether learning to ride a bike or finding ways to provide for his family.








Known for his infectious laugh and kind heart, Asher would drop everything to help family, friends, and neighbors. He never said no to a project and loved the challenge of fixing things. Asher never met a stranger and was always ready to help anyone in need, embodying the spirit of generosity. His sister, Sydney, accurately describes him as “a big kid with a contagious laugh.” He was loved by many.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, June 19th at 1:30 p.m. at Risen Ranch Cowboy Church, 10697 Cimarron Road, Carthage, Missouri followed by the funeral service at 3:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family would be appreciated.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
