Terry Canady

Terry Lea Canady was born on September 10, 1951, to Ernest and Ernestine (Carr) Canady. She was the oldest child. 

Terry attended school at Wentworth Elementary School until the 3rd grade. After that, the Wentworth Elementary School consolidated with the Pierce City School District. She graduated from high school at Pierce City in 1969. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar in 1973. She spent her career as a teacher at the Lake Ozark School District and the Cassville School District teaching all grades from kindergarten to 5th grade.








Terry was a lifelong member of the Van Buren Baptist Church in rural Wentworth, Missouri. She loved to sing and knew all of the words to all of the hymns. She spent the last few years residing at Oak Pointe in Neosho, MO. She went home to be with the Lord on June 27, 2024, after a very long battle with Alzheimer's and cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Ernestine and her brother, Larry. Terry is survived by her sister, Kristi Marion (Chris) of Pierce City and their children, Caleb Marion (Emily) and Aaron Marion (Coby). Also surviving are niece, Misty Cox (Wayne), nephew, Cody Canady and nephew, Sean Cooper (Meredith) and a host of great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City on Saturday, June 29th from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be at Van Buren Baptist Church at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 30th. Burial will follow at Van Buren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Terry's honor to the Van Buren Cemetery.
