George Beason

George William Beason, 67, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 30,2024 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri after a sudden illness.

George was born on October 8, 1956 in Grinnell, Iowa to the union of the late George and Modesta (Talbott) Beason. Later he and his family moved to Irving, Texas. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. He furthered his education and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business. 






For several years he managed a grocery store in Dallas, Texas and later began his career of over thirty years as an over the road truck driver. He enjoyed fishing as well as spending time with his family and friends. He will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal and maternal grandparents; brother Asa (Jim) Beason; and brother-in-law, Stephen Sims.

George is survived by his sons, Casey Beason, Brandon Beason and Daniel Beason, all of Carthage, Missouri; grandchildren, Graycen Hulsey, Ava Beason, Brock Beason, Logan Beason and Ezra Beason; siblings; Vicky Dady and husband, Charles, of Lake Witney, Texas, Carolyn Clark and husband, Eric, of Carthage, Missouri, John Beason and wife, Paula, of Anderson, Missouri; Alice Sims of Carthage, Missouri, and Mary Beason and Larry of Vinita, Oklahoma; mother of his children, Shari Hershey Riner; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Missouri.
