Lenetta Brooks

Lenetta Elizabeth Brooks, 81, a resident of Wyandotte, Oklahoma passed away at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Friday, June 7, 2024. 

Mrs. Brooks was born on October 30, 1942 in Joplin, Missouri to George Henry and Jesse Hazel (Holden) Gooding. Lenetta graduated from Joplin High School before going to Nursing School to become a Registered Nurse. 







She had worked at different places through the years but the last thirteen years she worked as a dialysis coordinator in Miami. She loved her kids and grandchildren. She often could be found making needle point Cross stitching and embroidery for the kids and grandchildren as they were being born. She was a great cook and loved to work in her flowers in the yard. 

Her parents George and Hazel Gooding preceded Lenetta in passing along with her daughter Carla Lea Brooks and son Joseph Brooks.








Survivors include her husband James Earl Brooks of the home, her children James Brooks Jr. and his wife Ellen of Crockett, Texas, Michael Ray Brooks of Arkansas, Phyllis Gatewood and her husband James of Wyandotte, Ray Edward Smith and his wife Fuko of Knob Knoster, Missouri, Wendy Johnston and her husband Marvin of Joplin and Laura Brooks of Neosho. Her Brother George H. Gooding II, and sisters Joyce Greenlee and Donna Marbut along with fourteen children and twenty-two great grandchildren.

Services are pending, Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
