(From Lakin Funeral Home)Loretta Rose Bartkoski passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, at St. Luke’s Nursing Care Center in Carthage, Missouri. She was born March 4, 1935, in Verona, Missouri to Frank and Lucy (Sperandio) Uhrig.
Loretta was united in marriage to Danny Bartkoski on November 8, 1958, and was a long-time resident of Pierce City, Missouri. The family operated a grade-A dairy farm for many years. She was a long-time member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sarcoxie, was active in her community, and spent her active life lovingly caring for her family and friends.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Danny, after 43 years of marriage. Also preceding her in death are her parents; her sisters, Irene Wheeler, Maxine Johnson, Pauline Abramovitz; and her brother, John Uhrig. She is survived by her children Randy (Debi) Bartkoski of Shell Knob, Cindy (Brian) Swadner of Joplin, and Michael (Jennifer) Bartkoski of Wentworth. Also surviving are her grandchildren Scott (Allison) Bartkoski, Ashley (Matt) Russell, and Logan (Holly) Swadner; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, Missouri. Visitation will be at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 6:00 pm with Rosary to follow at 7:30 pm. The funeral mass will be held Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sarcoxie.
