Ron Robson

Ronald William Robson, age 86, lifelong resident of Joplin, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at a local nursing home.

Ron was born September 28, 1937 in Joplin, son of the late Ronald Wallace Robson and Pauline (Fleming) Robson. He graduated from Joplin High School, then Joplin Junior College, before receiving his degree from Pittsburg State University in 1961. He was proud of his service in the United States National Guard for several years. 







He began his career working for KODE television station before going to work as a Job Service Representative for the State of Missouri. He did this for over 35 years before retiring.

Ron was active in the community and worked on several boards throughout Joplin including the ACLD, Jasper County Shelter Facilities, the Joplin Rangeline Lions Club, and the ARC. He loved classical music and had a show on KFSB in the 1970’s and later with the KXMS Radio. He was a longtime member of First Community Church of Joplin where he served on the board, was an Elder, and taught Sunday School for the high school youth. Most recently he was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church of Joplin.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Connie (Harrington) Robson who passed away in 2009; a brother, Jim Robson, and a sister, Nancy Anderson who passed away on May 1, 2024.

Survivors include his son, Tom Robson; daughter, Vicki Robson (Chris Scott) all of Joplin; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff members of the Silver Creek Assisted Living Center, Westgate at Wildwood Ranch, and the Phoenix Hospice Group for all their care and support.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in Osborne Memorial Cemetery.








The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Monday, June 10, 2024 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Father Frank Sierra officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the local Community Support Services.
