Mary Beggs

Mary Alice Beggs, age 84, of Joplin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Westgate at Wildwood Ranch.

Mary was born on March 19, 1940 in Joplin, MO to the late union of Clyde and Gladys (Bebee) Adamson. She worked hard her whole life as a hairstylist and owned Indian Bend Boutique and Country Cut and Curls just outside of Seneca, MO. She enjoyed taking care of her clients and helping those who didn’t always have the funds. This often meant working after hours, without asking for anything in return. 

Mary had a servant’s heart and made sure others needs were always taken care of. She was a devoted mother, sibling and friend. She loved to sing in church, garden and be out in nature. Like most of us, she had a sweet tooth and took every chance she could to bake cookies, especially with her grandchildren. Mary was a caring, honest and loving mother. She was a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by three brothers, Pete Adamson, Jack Adamson and Bob Adamson.

Mary is survived by her three children, Linda Conness and husband, Darrell, Tammy Uto and Gene “Wayne” Carrico and wife, Serena; four grandchildren, Thomas King, Chareese Brust and husband, Michael, Alicia Uto and Stephanie Uto; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Orvle Adamson.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made out to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Tonis Matthew officiating. Interment to follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Thomas King, Matthew King, Zach Sales, J.R. Turner, Gavin Turner, Michael Brust and Rilyn Brust serving as pallbearers.
