(From Parker Mortuary)Charles Wayne Musser, age 82, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on April 10, 2025. He was born June 7, 1942, in Neosho, Missouri, to the late Frank and Bea (Cole) Musser.
A proud graduate of Diamond High School, Wayne made a lasting impact as a track record holder, a reflection of his athleticism and competitive spirit. His love for sports remained strong throughout his life as a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. He also had a deep affection for animals and found joy in walks along the beach.
Wayne worked for many years at Smallwood Skelgas and Tamko Building Products and also enjoyed building homes. Known for his selfless nature, kind heart, and sharp wit, he was always ready to kid around and loved giving those around him a hard time in the most endearing way.
More than anything, Wayne cherished his family. The memories he created with them will be treasured forever.
He is survived by his children: Kevin Musser (Lori) of Joplin, MO; Tracy Musser of Grove, OK; and Karla Trimble (Brian) of Olathe, KS; grandchildren: Jake Musser (Claudia), Jessie Davis (Trever), Spencer Leatham, Laney Black (Trey), Ryan Crissman (Brenna), Jackson Trimble, and Marlie Trimble; great-grandchildren: Alex, Natalie, Tucker, Avery, Brady, Brody, D’Mitry, Kinsley and Georgia; and his beloved dog, Chloe. He is survived by one brother, John Musser.
Wayne was married to Robbie (Bender) Musser for 46 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim Musser.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Parker Mortuary Chapel in Joplin, MO. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Arrangements are under the care of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
