Pat Leistner

Pat A. Leistner, age 81 of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo.

Pat was born on August 18, 1937 in Kenosha, Wi. The daughter of Keith and Eva (Ebina) Lonergan. Patricia was a Housewife.

She married Charles Leistner on August 20, 1955, in Kenosha, Wi he proceeded her in death on January 15, 2010. Additional survivors include four sons; Charles Leistner of Fairfeild, Ca., Michael Leistner and wife Gwen of Cleveland Oh., Steven Leistner and wife Christina of Long Wolf, Ok., Tom Leistner and wife Stephanie of Joplin, Mo., eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren. Pat was proceeded in death by her parents, son Mark Leistner in 2015, a grand daughter, Anna Leistner in 2008.

Memorial service is planned for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Mason-Woodard Chapel. The family will receive friends after the service.

Darlene Jordan

Darlene G. Jordan, age 88, formerly of Joplin, passed away on Saturday September 1, 2018, at Kansas City Hospice House, following an illness.

Darlene was born on November 21, 1929 in Wilmont, Ks., the daughter of the late Arthur and Jennetta (Hoefgen) Groom. She has lived in Kansas City with her daughter the past seven years. She married Ray Gene Osborn and together they had two children. She was a homemaker and occasionally worked outside of the home. She loved music and singing with her family. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening and caning.

She married Robert C. Jordan in 1974. Together they enjoyed traveling in their motor home. He preceded her in death in 2015. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald G. Groom; and one sister, Lois Faye Collier.

Darlene is survived by one son, Danny Osborn and wife Linda, Ponca City, Ok.; one daughter, Glenna Hataway and husband Gary, Raymore, Mo.; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard, Prior to the service.

Contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House in care of the Mortuary.

Raymond Bassett

Raymond Roy Bassett, age 90, Joplin, passed away at 5:32 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Mercy Hospital after an illness.

Raymond was born April 15, 1928 in Joplin to the late Rutherford Roy Bassett and Zenith Edna Warford Bassett.

As a young man, he worked at Hunter Printing in Joplin. He later lived in Moriarty, New Mexico where he worked as a police officer and managed the Oasis Motel. Raymond and his family moved back to Joplin in 1965, where he managed the Rocket Motel. He had a creative mind and loved colors and art. His creative outlet was Bassett Signs, which he opened in 1955 and retired in 1997. Raymond was an accomplished artist and painter. He did multiple family portraits and landscapes. His creative flair led him to start making jewelry and eventually opened the Ozark Silver Smith. He loved listening to music and loved spending time with his family. He loved animals, especially cats, and fed every animal around including racoons, squirrels and possums, or anything else he could get close to. He had the possums named Tom, Dick, and Harry.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II.

Raymond married Virginia Moffet on September 5, 1947 in Girard, Kansas. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include four children, Ronald Bassett and wife, Billie, Joplin, Richard Bassett and wife, Sandy, Sparks, Nevada, Nancy Orton and husband, Mike, Joplin, Susan McClure, Ft. Scott, Kansas; twelve grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren.

Services are planned for Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Parker Mortuary. Rev. Jeff Martin will officiate. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joplin Humane Society, in care of Parker Mortuary.

Bill Montgomery

William “Bill” Robert Montgomery 62 of Decatur, passed away August 30, 2018 in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born December 23, 1955 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Bill and Emily Connett Montgomery. He worked as banker and mayor. He attended the Decatur Assembly of God Church.
He is preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife Michal Lea Montgomery; 2 sons Matt (Jamie) of Gentry, Arkansas, Rob (and partner David Magee) of Decatur, Arkansas, 1 Granddaughter Mattie, his mother Emily Montgomery of Decatur, brother Melvin (Gerri) of 29 Palms, California, 7 sisters, Janet (Ron) Yates of Grove, Oklahoma, Diane (Mike) Reyes of Bentonville, Arkansas, Betty (James) Clement Wilson of Racine, Missouri, Ranet (Trip) Lapham of Grove, Oklahoma, Carol Headrick of Centerton, Arkansas, Marilyn (Mark) Kitchens of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Valeria (Randal) Brendall of Goodman, Missouri. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members of wife’s family; Carl and Ellen Florer, Pat Weide, and Steven Hall, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial Service 10:00 a.m. Tuesday; September 4, 2018 at the Decatur Assembly Of God.

Kathleen Dintaman

Kathleen “Pace” Dintaman, 69, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at her home in Carthage. Kathleen was born March 28, 1949 in Baton Rouge, LA to Selby Clay Pace, Sr. and Alice Louise “Struppeck” Pace.

Kathleen was a longtime resident of Carthage. She worked at Domino’s Pizza and Wal-Mart and served two terms as president of the Lions Club.
Kathleen was united in marriage to Victor Ray Dintaman on October 10, 1998 in Eureka Springs, AR; he survives.

Kathleen is also survived by four sons, Michael James Noel (Tammy) of Spokane, MO, Russell Dintaman (Britney) of Jasper, MO, Richard “Ricky” Roffmann (Stacy) of Carthage, Brandon Noel (April) of Shell Knob, MO; one daughter, Renea Leann Bobb (Jonathan) of Jasper, MO; and 15 grandchildren.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Alicia Ann Roffmann and one brother, Selby Clay Pace, Jr.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1338 E. Fairview Ave., Carthage, MO. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Summerset Cemetery, Northeast of Carthage.

Kirk Dennis

James Kirk Dennis, age 56, passed away Monday, August 27, 2018, due to complications from a long illness.

Survivors include two brothers, Scott Dennis and Joseph Dennis; sister, Shawne Csonka; daughter, Kelsey Diane Dennis; two grandsons; and special friend, Vicky Cox. He had a huge family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and was loved by all.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Schermerhorn Park in Galena, Kansas.

He will be missed by all. We love you, Kirk.

Sadie Camerer

Sadie M. Camerer, 87, Granby, entered into rest on September 1, 2018 in Neosho, following a two month illness.

 
Sadie was born December 11, 1930 in Granby, the daughter of Fern and Essie (Burress) Gamble. She was a lifelong area resident and had worked as a seamstress at Big Smith and as a cook for the East Newton Schools. She enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening and was a member of the Granby First Baptist Church. 

 
Sadie and Wayne Camerer were married on January 6, 1950 in Bentonville, AR and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2010. 

 
She is survived by a son, Pat Camerer and wife, Sara of Granby; two brothers, Jerry Gamble and wife, Pat and Darrell Gamble and wife, Hazel, all of Granby; one sister, Dortha Lee McNeely of Carthage; six grandchildren, Justin Camerer, Amanda Camerer, Shynan Wilson, Katy Cooper, ShaLynn Dannels and Lakota Cooper and three great grandchildren, River Franks, Creek Wilson and Paisley Dannels. 

 
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Michael W. Camerer and two brothers, Kenneth and Donald Gamble.

Graveside services will be Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Granby Memorial Cemetery. The casket will be closed at all times.
