Jennie Iva Bean, 88, Carthage, MO passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at her home following a short illness. Jennie Iva Roudabush was born January 13, 1927 in Osterburg, PA to the late Howard Roudabush and Esther (Negley) Roudabush. She married James Clayton Bean on October 5, 1967 in Madison, KS. Jennie moved to Carthage in 1981. She worked for St. Luke’s Nursing Home doing housekeeping, Walgreens as a bookkeeper, and did volunteer work for the American Red Cross, St. Luke’s Nursing Home, and General Rose Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include a son; John, (wife Brenda) Bean, Snellville, GA; a daughter; Patty Lou Pollard, Caldwell, ID; four sisters; Betty Lou Roudabush, Hallidaysburg, PA, Martha Resig, Altoona, PA, Mary Martino, Altoona, PA, Shirley Michaels, Murphysboro, TN; and one brother; Harry Roudabush, Martinsburg, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son; James Clayton Bean Jr.; and one sister; Doris Bush.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, September 29, 2015 from 6:00 – 7:00 PM in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held Wednesday September 30, 2015 at 1:30 PM in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Rev. James Lee will officiate. Interment will follow at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin, MO. Memorial gifts are suggested to First United Methodist Church, Carthage, MO in care of Knell Mortuary, 308 W.
