Opal Fort

Opal M. Fort, 81, Seneca, MO passed into eternal rest at 9:55 AM at her home in rural Seneca after a long illness.

Opal Marie Callaway was born May 21, 1934 in Mountain Home, AR the daughter of Thomas Edward and Mabel Eva (Sherwood) Callaway. Opal was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Opal Marie Callaway married George David Fort August 16, 1952 in Huntsville AR and he survives.
Additional survivors include three sons, David Fort and wife Earlene, Carterville, MO, James Fort and wife Debbie, Joplin, MO and Jeff Fort and wife Sandra, Seneca, MO; one daughter, Lisa Fort, Joplin, MO; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Alice Daniels and husband Steve, Neosho, Fern Coleman, Carl Junction, Barbara Mason and husband Ronald, Scott City, MO, Hazel Buck and husband Bill, Carl Junction, MO and Jeannie Hines and husband Leroy, Anderson, MO.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Mabel Callaway, father and mother -in-law James and Sylvia Fort, brother-in-laws, Bert Coleman, Tom Wallain, Collins Fort and Glen Fort and sister -in-law, June Hart.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm, Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Campbell -Biddlecome Funeral Home with Rev. John Pigg and Jerry Henderson officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Michael Fort, Matt Fort, Joshua Fort, Micah Fort, Jerrod Fort and Marissa Fort serving as pallbearers.
