Mary Alice Martin, 88, Goodman, died September 8, 2015 at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born October 10, 1926 in Nazareth, Texas, the daughter of John and Eva (Barker) Vines. Mary moved to this area from Hereford, Texas in 1971 and was a mother, grandmother and homemaker. She loved tending to her cattle and was a supporter of World Vision. She was a member of Splitlog Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for years.
Mary married James G. Martin on February 8, 1947 in Hereford, Texas, who preceded her in death on June 22, 2004. She is survived by four children, Gregory James Martin of Goodman, Alice Lee Martin of Berthoud, CO., Judith Martin Haines of Santa Fe, NM and Tami Deane Martin of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, Lisa Martin, Jacquie Willet, Rebecca Waisner and Todd Martin, as well as eight great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mary is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Randy Reed Martin.
