Rosa Ellen Read age 83, of Carthage passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
She was born on September 4, 1932 in Webb City to Ernest Ethridge and Nellie Marie (Baugh) Ethridge. Rosa was a homemaker.
She married Edward Read on April 24, 1954 in Miami, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on September 25, 2015. Rosa was also preceded in death by a son, Loyd Dale Read on October 3, 2013. She is survived by two daughters, Jeannie Pritchard and husband Rob of Carthage and Rosa Pfeifle and husband David of Webb City; one son, Danny Read of Carthage; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Kendrick of Show Low, Arizona; aunt, Mary Powell of Webb City; two additional family members, Danny Muench of Carthage and Donnie Spencer of Joplin; along with many friends and neighbors of the Brooklyn Heights Community.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Webb City Cemetery with Pastor Nathan Haeck officiating. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Rosa’s church of choice, Webb City Church of the Nazarene, 701 W. 10th, Webb City, Missouri 417-673-2764, Nathan Haeck (Senior Pastor) so they can serve others in need.
