Mary Sue DeCastro, age 68, Carl Junction, passed away at 1:25 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2015 at the home of her sister after an illness.
Mary was born May 6, 1947 in Missouri to the late Victor DeCastro and Mary Jones DeCastro and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life.
She worked in production at a shirt factory for several years. Her family meant the world to her and she was a faithful member of Christ's Church of Oronogo.
Survivors include a son, Kyle Friend, Carl Junction; two sisters, Tressa Lewis, Neck City, Margie King, Duenweg; two brothers, Hubert DeCastro, Enid, Oklahoma, Tom DeCastro, Garland, Texas; five grandchildren, Karson Friend, Memphis Kaderly, Trey Friend, Makayla Friend, River Friend; and many other extended family members.
Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Frazier and three brothers, Bill DeCastro, Emmett DeCastro and Lee DeCastro.
Graveside services are planned for Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery. Dennis Tyndall, Eric Pagan and Kyle Friend will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
