Lola Hess

Lola Mae Hess, age 90 of Joplin, Mo passed away Friday September 11, 2015 at the Wildwood Ranch Nursing Home in Joplin, Mo. She was born on September 24, 1924 in Mason City, Ia. the daughter of Fred and Dorothy “Boutelle” Aderhold. She married Dalton Hess on June 10, 1951 in Purdy, Mo. She received her Master’s in Education in 1981 from Missouri Southern. She was a 2nd grade teacher for Joplin R-8 Schools from 1970 to 1986. She was a past president for ADK sorority, a member of Retired Teachers and Good Sams R.V. Club. She enjoyed genealogy, toll painting and quilting. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Dalton, parents Fred and Dorothy Aderhold, and two brothers; Eugene and Ron Aderhold. Survivors include two sons: John Hess of Joplin, Mo., and Jake Hess and wife Peggy of Mission, Ks., a daughter Cindy Readshaw and husband Bob of Joplin, Mo., four grandchildren: Brad Readshaw and wife Tricia of Joplin, Mo., Vicki Duley and husband Bob of Joplin, Mo., Krista Hundley and husband Mike of Belle Vista, Ar., and Cole Hess of Mission, Ks., five great grandchildren Aaron Murray, Samantha Daniell and husband Tyler, Mathew Hundley, Allyson and Ashley Readshaw, and a sister in-law Sue Aderhold of Springfield, Mo.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday September 15, 2015 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory with Tracy Rowe Minister officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt Hope Cemetery Webb City, Mo. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to service at the Mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society in care of the mortuary. Arrangements entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
