Walter Boggs

Mr. Walter E. Boggs, 75, of Wentworth, Missouri departed this life on Sunday, September 6, 2015, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Walter entered this life on October 21, 1939, in Lawrence County, Missouri, to the late Charlie and Venita (Overall) Boggs. He was a lifelong area resident. On May 10, 1961, he was united in marriage to Carol Maggard and together they shared fifty-four wonderful years of memories. Walter retired from Lawrence County Common Two Road District and was also engaged in full time farming. He enjoyed helping in the kitchen with his wife, working, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Doug Boggs; two grandchildren, Darcy and Isaac Lopardo; two brothers, Marion Boggs and Melvin Boggs and one sister, Sheryl Boggs.

Walter is survived by his wife, Carol of the home; three daughters, Lori Boggs, Duquesne, Missouri, Eugenia Landes and husband Mitch of Oronogo, Missouri and Marge Ventrano and husband Tim of Wentworth, Missouri; five grandchildren; Nicholas Lillard, Jordon Williamson, Jessica Landes, Nathan Landes and Josie Boggs; two brothers; Gerald Boggs and Mitchell Boggs; five sisters; Charlena Boswell, Anna Maggard, Loretta Sawyer, Shirley Garrison and Lorene Thorn; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Boggs are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home, Sarcoxie, Missouri with Sherman Burruss officiating. Burial to follow in Sarcoxie Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Those honoring his life as pallbearers are Jordon Williamson, Nathan Landes, Kelby Endicott, Caleb Endicott, Joseph Endicott and James Howard.
