Lester Dale Kenagy, age 68, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at his home with family at his side.
Lester was born January 20, 1949 in Garden City, Missouri, son of the late Harlie Kenagy and Neva Parker Kenagy. He grew up in Garden City, and moved to the Carthage area in 1987. He worked for Justin Boot for 35 years before retiring in 2015. He enjoyed being outdoors, spending time working on his yard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rufus Kenagy.
He married Karen White on September 15, 1973 in Clinton, Missouri, she survives. Additional survivors include his children, Tara Kenagy and fiance' Scott Spence of Joplin, Jeffery Kenagy and wife Amber of Carthage; grandchildren, Jassiah Schiernbeck, Chance Schiernbeck, Avery Kenagy, Alex Wilkowski, and Ana Wilkowski; brothers, Carroll Kenagy and wife Beulah of Portland, Oregon, Marvin Kenagy and wife Judith of Adrian, Missouri, and Roger Kenagy and wife Mary Jane of Iron Mountain, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.
The family requests that you come help celebrate Lester's life at Journey Church, 301 S. McKinley Ave., Joplin, Missouri, on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
