Chester O. Booth, born January 19, 1943 to Calvin and Electa Mae (Martin) Booth finished his earthly race at 12:26 am February 18, 2018 surrounded by his family at National Healthcare where he has lived the last 5 years. He lived in Joplin most of his life.
He worked at Doane Products Company for 30+ years retiring in 1998. He was a member of Life Connections Church, formerly known as Cathedral Assembly of God, in Joplin.
Chester loved to go fishing. He went to Roaring River on opening day to go trout fishing for about 18 years.
Chester married Inez (Thrasher) Booth on May 3, 1968 in Anderson, she survives. Additonall survivors are sons, Stephen Booth and Tim Booth of the home and daughter Lisa Patterson and her husband Kevin of Carthage. Four grandchildren Brittany Patterson, Kyle Patterson, Abigail Patterson, and Caleb Patterson all of Carthage. Brothers, Amos and his wife Phyllis Booth of Webb City and Clarence and his wife Sharon Booth of Joplin. Several nieces and nephews and many other friends and family.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Cathy(Griffin) and two sisters, Elsie Dorris and Willa Whetstone and his fishing buddy, Gene Elledge.
Pallbearers are Jacky Whiteley, Bob McDaniel, Tony Belk, Austin Belk, Randy Cummings, and Rick Nichols. Honorary pallbearer is John Wolf.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday February 23, 2018 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. at the Mortuary Thursday evening. Pastor Tim Wright will officiate, burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery near Anderson.
