Ronald L. 'Ron' Cook, Jr., age 54, Joplin, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 in Cherokee County, Kansas from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Ron was born February 4, 1964 in Carthage to Joan S. Mathis Cook and the late Ronald L. Cook, Sr. and had lived in the area all of his life.
He worked 18 years for Dyno Nobel, Inc. as a supervisor and several years as a quality specialist for Dish Network. Ron enjoyed the lake; traveling; driving his dune buggy; NASCAR and helping anyone in need. He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his children, Jessica Hill and husband, Patrick, Overland Park, Kansas, Ronnie L. Cook III and his wife, Cassie, Webb City; his mother, Joan Cook, Webb City; two brothers, Byron Cook and Jody Cook, both of Webb City; a sister, Tina Pennington, Webb City; grandchildren, Rhythm, Sutton and Ellie; former wife, Jeannie Cook, Webb City; and several extended family members, including Michelle Cook and Rob Pennington.
Services are planned for Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Carterville Christian Church. Robin Sigars will officiate. Interment will follow at Avilla Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Byron Cook, Jody Cook, Ronnie Cook, Patrick Hill, Bobby Hodges and Rob Pennington. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ron Cook Children's Fund, in care of Parker Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
