James L. "Jim" Vance, age 74, of Neosho, Mo. passed away at 6:00 a.m. Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Granby House Nursing Home in Granby, Mo. Jim was born August 10, 1943 in Granby, Mo. and had lived in the Neosho-Joplin area most of his life. He was employed as a machinist with Starlight Tool, and formerly was employed with Turnco Mfg., Sperry-Vickers Corp. and Hawk Engineering Co. Jim was a member of the Diamond Christian Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Sharon Bartlett Vance in 2012.
Jim is survived by a daughter, Misty Bartlett and husband Paul, Republic, Mo. , a step son, Kevin Musser and wife Lori, Joplin, two sisters, Patricia Jones and husband Junior, Neosho, Mo and Joyce Smith and husband Gerald, Sarcoxie, Mo.
Jim has been cremated. His cremains will be laid to rest in the Diamond, Mo. Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
