Katherine Kay Kahre, age 58, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 4:35 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born on July 15, 1959, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Arnold and Jacqueline (Ogan) Welker.
Kay was a 1977 high school graduate of Aurora High School, was former secretary for the Aurora City Manager, served as City Collector for Aurora, was dispatcher for the City of Monett and Aurora and was a loan office for the Community National Bank in Aurora. Kay was a choir director and organist for 25 years and was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Aurora.
On July 1, 1989, she was united in marriage with Steven Kahre, in Crane, Missouri.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Steven; two daughters, Lisa Perriman and her husband, Dale, and Janet Burton, all of Joplin, Missouri; a sister, Mary Hale and her husband, Paul, of Aurora; two brothers, Charles (Chuck) Welker of Aurora and Pastor David Welker and his wife, Anna, of Findlay, Ohio and five grandchildren.
Her parents, Arnold and Jacqueline, preceded her in death.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018, at the Holy Trinity Church in Aurora, Missouri. Visitation will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made payable to Holy Trinity Youth Group, in care of the funeral home.
