Cleve Fields

Arthur C. “Cleve” Fields, 85, of Anderson, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019, at his home after a battle with cancer.

Cleve was born on March 6, 1934, in Anderson, Missouri, one of six children born to Grace (Bennett) Fields. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army from 1953 – 1956. On November 16, 1959, Cleve was united in marriage to Gloria Marilene Rayl and to this union seven children were born.

Cleve worked for General Motors in the maintenance department and retired in May of 1989. He retired from the City of Anderson in 1996. Cleve was Santa for over 30 years for the schools in Noel and Anderson and other organizations. He also served on the City Council. 








Cleve was preceded in death by his mother; four siblings, Bill Fields, Loreta Fields, Irene Fields and Fern Fields; and one son, James D. Fields.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Gloria Fields, of the home; six children, David F. Fields, John D. Fields, Vernon P. Fields, Steven D. Fields, Darrell C. Fields and Julie D. Fields; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; a brother, Luther Fields; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

The family will hold memorial services at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019, at Faith Chapel Assembly of God at 1st and Oak in Anderson with Pastor Derald Compton officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Ozark Funeral Homes, Anderson, Missouri.
