Roger L. Burroughs, age 75, of Carl Junction, passed away on December 10, 2019, at his residence surrounded by family.
Roger was born on November 7, 1944 in Washington D.C. to Brice and Esther (Reynolds) Burroughs. He graduated from Ft. Hays State with a bachelor’s degree in Math and later added a master’s in Computer Science from the University of Kansas.
On June 4, 1967 he married Nancy Porter, his college sweetheart. Within the first year of marriage “Uncle Sam” Wanted Him – 4 years in the U.S. Air Force and then on to the Department of the Army civil service for the remainder of his career.
For fun, Roger and his family enjoyed many camping adventures, the B.S.A., the AWANA program, S.O.W.E.R. (Servants on Wheels Ever Ready) Mission Trips, Golfing and fellowshipping with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, his mother Esther, his siblings Courtney Kathleen and Robin, his children Karen, Adam and his wife Connie, his eight grandchildren Matthew and Emily, Kai, Levi, Nava and Ian. He was preceded in death by his father, Brice Burroughs in 1983.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Forest Park Baptist Church with Dr. John Swadley officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation
starting at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Little River, KS at a later date.

mortuary.
