Tony Whaley

Tony Elden Whaley, of Lockwood, MO, departed this life on Sunday, December 29, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO at the age of 59.

He was born on June 22, 1960 in Mt. Pleasant, IA to Roger Elwyn and Ella Mae (Brown) Whaley. Tony graduated from Lockwood High School in 1978. He was a certified welder and worked several years as a welder. In recent years, Tony operated Whaley’s Wantiques in Lockwood. He had a great passion for antiques from buying and selling to refinishing. Tony was in charge of the Lockwood Recycling Trailer in which he took it to Lamar almost weekly.








Survivors include his son, Jeremiah Whaley; his parents, Roger and Ella Mae Whaley of Lockwood, MO; his brother, Terry Whaley and his wife Jean of Springfield, MO; his granddaughter, Callie Whaley of Pittsburg, KS, his niece, Tera Whaley of Florida; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family will have a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2020, at the Lockwood United Methodist Church Life Center. The family will receive friends on Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. until service time at the Family Life Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lockwood Community Foundation or to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be shared at www.greenfieldfuneralchapel.com. Cremation services are under the care of Lockwood Funeral Chapel.
