John Henry Barker, age 77 of Joplin, MO, passed away at 4:50 AM on Monday, December 9, 2019 at Galena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
John was born in Joplin, MO on April 15, 1942 to the union of Henry W. Barker and Faye Elizabeth (Little) Barker. He had lived in the four state area all of his life.
After graduating high school, he enlisted in the US Navy and served from 1962 to 1964. He spent many years as a produce salesman, and enjoyed playing pool and reading westerns.
He is survived by two sons, John Barker, Jr. of Watauga, TX, and Tommy Harms of Galena; one daughter, Misty Bleu-Walker (husband, William Walker) of Galena; one brother, Eddie Barker of Joplin; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Faye Barker.
Mr. Barker has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for Cremation. The family is planning a memorial service, and those details will be released in the near future.
