Douglas Wayne Combs Sr, age 52, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 17, 2019 in Afton, OK following a vehicular accident.
Mr Combs was born November 23, 1967 in Joplin, MO. His parents were Billy Ray and Charla Jean (Himes) Combs. He was a lifetime resident of Galena.
He graduated from Galena High School with the class of 1986. He then entered the U S Army and was a veteran of Desert Storm. He had worked at Doane’s Products for 20 years until their closure. He was currently employed as a driver for Hub Tobacco Distributors, Galena, KS, a position he had held the past 3 years.
Surviving is one son, Douglas Combs Jr, (partner, Marcellus Wade), Cordova, SC; three daughters, Cecilia Ballard (husband, Chris), Galena, Crystal Girard , Webb City, MO, and Katie Gordon (husband Alvey); his parents Bill and Charla Combs, Galena, KS; one sister Andrea Combs,(partner, Shannon Richardson) Galena, KS; 17 grandchildren including Daryn, Riot and Carson; one niece, Emily Matthews (husband, Michael), Galena and one nephew, Jared Combs, Galena.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 27, 2019 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Burial will be at Gandy Cemetery Galena, KS at a later date.
