(From Ozark Funeral Home)Sammy Adams, 79 of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at her family home in Anderson, Missouri.
She entered this life on February 28, 1945, in Bethpage, Missouri, born to her late parents, Harry & Grace (Phillips) Hardisty. She loved the Lord and was baptized at the age of 15.
In her spare time, she loved anything to do with racing cars, taking part in several races herself. There is no telling how many pink slips she collected throughout the years. Richard Petty was her favorite NASCAR driver and her favorite rail dragster was Big Daddy Don Garlits. She and her family enjoyed going to MoKan Dragway.
When she wasn’t racing, she loved watching birds, especially cardinals. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. They were her world. Sammy was proud to receive her GED in 1985, and would eventually become an esteemed college graduate.
At the age of 76, she received her CAN qualifications. Sammy She lived life to the fullest and many admired her for her strength and sassy personality. One could say that she was a whippersnapper!
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Raymond Hardisty; her sister, Vinita Roach; her Daughter-in-law, Sandra Foster; and her son, Allen Foster.
She is survived by her son Mike Foster; her daughter, Tammy Westendorf (James); her brother Jim Hardisty; her sister, Evelyn Fluker; three Granddaughters, Heather, Alisha, and Kylee; two Grandsons, David and Evan; and five Great Grandchildren, Brock, Riley, Ava, Lily, and Melody; several beloved “fuzzybuns”; and her best friend, Teresa Adams. She is also survived by several Nieces, Nephews, and a host of other family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
