Donnie Ray Sturgeon, 58, Neosho, died December 15, 2015 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, following failing health.
Donnie was born December 30, 1956 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Virgil and Edna (Stone) Sturgeon. He moved to the area as a small child and was a lifelong area resident. He served in the National Guard from 1975-1981 and had worked as a self employed heavy equipment operator and owned the Lazy S Mobile Home Park. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed working outside.
He is survived by two daughters, Christina Sturgeon of Neosho and Amanda Brattin of Joplin; two grandchildren, Vanessa Brattin and Morgan Brattin and a brother, Ronnie Sturgeon of Carthage. He is preceded in death by a grandson, Coby Brattin and his parents.
