Doris Rowe

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Doris Irene Rowe, 90, died on Saturday, December 19, 2015 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Until her family moved her to a long term care facility in Broken Arrow, Doris lived her entire life in Neosho. She was born on September 3, 1925 in Neosho. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs. Rowe was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ralph; her parents, Henry and Mae Church; four sisters, Jesse, Margret, Laura and Lou; and three brothers, Charles, Thomas and Jack. Doris is survived by her only son, Joe and his wife, Sandra of Broken Arrow, OK; two granddaughters, Deborah Marouk and husband, Colin of Broken Arrow and Dana Davidson and her husband, Cord of Batesville, AR; and five great granddaughters, Madison Marouk, Sydney Marouk, Chloe Marouk, Victoria Davidson and Josephine Davidson; her sister, Dorothy and brothers, James and Lee.

Doris and her husband loved to take their RV to the lake on weekends and vacations. She was a voracious reader her entire life and loved to solve crossword puzzles. She was a woman of great faith and loved her church. After she retired from Sunbeam Corporation, she volunteered to listen to elementary children read at a local school. She remained an avid walker into her early 80s, sometimes walking as much as five miles in a day. The last few years of Doris’ life were darkened by Alzheimer’s, but unlike many afflicted by that terrible disease, she never lost her sunny disposition. Her family has many amusing anecdotes concerning her confused state, which often resulted in unintended humor. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
