Shirley Chambers

Shirley J. Chambers, age 89, of Webb City passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Freeman West Hospital. 

She was born on November 15, 1926 in Carl Junction to Horace L. Nealy and Ruby Pearl (Maness) Nealy. Shirley was a Night Chief Operator for Southwestern Bell and also a homemaker. She graduated from Carterville High School in the class of 1945. 

Shirley married Eugene B. Chambers on June 5, 1950 in Bentonville, Arkansas and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1992. She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Chambers of Overland Park, Kansas, Amelia (Amy) Chambers Thieman and husband Bill of Lexington, Missouri; son, Mark Chambers of Laguna Niguel, California; and a step-granddaughter, Amy Lynn Thieman. 

Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin. A visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Carterville Cemetery Association, 702 East Main Street, Carterville, MO 64835 in her memory.
