Roger H. Gates, 60, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest at his home in Seneca after a short illness.
Roger Hale Gates was born October 5, 1955 in Sterling, CO the son of Fred O. and Doris Grace (Welch) Gates. Roger graduated from Greeley Central High School. Roger worked for Beaver Express in Joplin, MO. He was a member of Christian Motorcyclist Association for 11 years. Roger was a member of the Spread The Light Cook Team and a member of Faith Assembly of God in Joplin.
Roger H. Gates married Debbie J. Ackerson April 5, 1983 in Miami, OK and she survives.
Additional survivors include three children, Travis Lewis, Seneca, Caleb Lewis and wife Vanessa and Aaron Lewis and wife Miranda all of Joplin; one brother, Bruce Oben and wife Nancy, Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Olivia Lewis, Salma Lewis and Anna Lewis.
Roger was preceded in death by his mother Doris Olsen, step father, John Olsen, one sister, Bonnie Hays, two brothers, Billy Hays and Dick Hays and one grand-daughter, Lola Rose Lewis.
Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the Seneca Assembly of God with Bro. Denny Sikes officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Doug Scribner, Don Bussey, Paul Richardson, Ray Rich, Gary Sheets and Angel Ruiz serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Ackerson, Don Ackerson, Dan Ackerson and Bruce Olsen.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm, Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Seneca Assembly of God Church.
