Jeff Lay

Geoffrey Flem “Jeff” Lay, age 58, of Seligman, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 21st, 2020 in his home.

He was born on August 13th, 1962 in Indianapolis, Indiana the son of George F. and Ruth (Bruton) Lay. Preceding him in death were his parents; one infant brother, Dale Allen Lay and his best friend, Jerry Harding. 

Surviving are one daughter, Amanda Slaughter of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Gabriel Slaughter, Raylea Ruth and Aubree Ann Johnson of Seligman, Missouri, one sister, Deborah Lay of Seligman, Missouri; one son-in-law, Josh Slaughter of Seligman, Missouri; two nieces, Shannon Duncan of Pineville, Missouri and Tara Green, her spouse Casey of Eagle Rock, Missouri; one nephew, Nathaniel Murray; two great nieces and seven great nephews. 








Jeff received his education at Southwest High School. He was an avid Raiders Fan. He loved Nascar and Jeff Gordon. He loved to watch and play golf. He loved softball, playing it and being a coach for his grandson and team. He loved his grandson and two granddaughters more than life itself. His best friend in the world was Jim Burns.

Jeff was a member of Mission Baptist Church for 50 years.

A celebration of his life will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday, August 28th at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. There will be a graveside service at King Cemetery in Seligman at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 29th.

Contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Mission Baptist Church in memory of Jeff Lay.
