Lester L. Shuey was born March 26, 1936 in Newton County, Missouri, one of five sons to Loren and Charlott (Field) Shuey. He entered into rest on August 19, 2020 at his home with family at his side at the age of 84.
Lester was a lifelong area resident and graduate of Neosho High School, class of 1954. He served actively in the U.S. Navy, January 15, 1957 - January 12, 1961 and then served in the reserves until retirement. He had worked at Eagle Picher and then at Atlas Powder for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Lester and Kay (Bogle) were married on June 23, 1961 and Kay survives.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, Lester is survived by a son, Kenny (Rhonda) Shuey of Neosho; two grandchildren, David and Kayla; three great grandchildren, Aiden, Jace and Jackson and one brother, Lawrence (Connie) Shuey of Cassville.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda, three brothers, Max, Alan and Greg and his parents.
