Makayla Sue, the daughter of Justin and Kimberly (Roush) Scott, was born on May 2, 2015 at Mercy in Joplin.
Makayla was a fierce, full of life, curly blonde, blue eyed doll that could fill a room with smiles when she laughed. She was a fast runner and could out run any of her siblings and cousins. She loved to sing and dance with her favorite song from her favorite movie Frozen, “Let It Go.” She loved playing outdoors with her parents and siblings. Her contagious laugh will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Survivors include her parents, Justin and Kimberly Scott, of Duquesne; three siblings, Jedidiah, Brooke, and Ashly Scott, of the home; paternal grandparents, Barbara and Claude McDowell, of Carthage; maternal grandparents, Laura Roush, Joplin, and Michael Roush, of Joplin; great-grandmother, Marina Houk, of Joplin; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins that will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by one grandfather, Roy Scott; and great-grandparents, Jimmie Houk, Leona Charlene Kettner, John Willard Scott, Orleana Scott, and Eugene and Sylvia Crane.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 10:00am at Burkhart Cemetery in Racine. Friends and family may offer condolences online or at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary Saturday and Sunday during normal business hours.
