(From Clark Funeral Home)Jessie Bates was born March 24, 1945 in Seneca, Missouri, one of six children to William H. and Juanita I. (Russell) York. She entered into rest on April 1, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family at the age of 76.
Jessie was a lifelong area resident and had worked in the lab of Tyson Foods, retiring after 20 years. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed doing arts and crafts, outdoors, gardening and fishing.
Jessie and Richard Bates were married on August 17, 1963 in Neosho and he survives.
In addition to her husband of 57 years, Jessie is survived by a daughter, Lora Bates of Racine and a son, Bradley (Paula) Bates of Stark City, Missouri; one sister, Letha (Bill) Fritchey of Seneca; three grandchildren, Brittany (David) Salazar of Webb City, Missouri, Brandon (Julie) Bates of Neosho, Missouri and Katilyn Bates and fiance, Jeff Howard of Webb City, Missouri and twelve great grandchildren.
Jessie is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Leroy, Lloyd, T.J. and Marvin York.
The family extends a special 'thank you' to Integrity Hospice and the doctors and nurses at Mercy.
