(From Knell Mortuary)William Charles “Billy” Sparlin, 72, Joplin, Missouri, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. Billy was born April 2, 1949, in Miami, Oklahoma, the son of William Clark Sparlin and Velma (Davis) Sparlin.
Billy married Eva Waisner, and to this union, two children were born; they later divorced. He worked as a mechanic and loved collecting cars and guns. Billy was a member of the NRA.
Survivors include his mother, Velma Collins; a daughter, Nicole Blass (Josh); two sons, Chuck Sparlin (Tammy), and Chris Sparlin; three sisters, Marilyn Tandy (Bill), Pat Brown (Gary), and Janice Williams (Kent); two brothers, Burley Sparlin (Patti), and Denver Sparlin (Cheryl); and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Sparlin; a son, Bobby Sparlin; and a granddaughter, Brittanie Sparlin.
Per Billy’s wishes, there was cremation. A celebration of life will be held 3 pm, Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Highway 59 Event Center, Diamond, Missouri. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
