Norman Jones

Norman Neal Jones, age 87, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 6:35 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at his home. He was born June 12, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Jessie and Ellen (Frances) Jones.

Norman was a United States Army Veteran and was the manager of the Mt. Vernon Ben Franklin store for eleven years. Norman was a retired Realtor for Century 21 Real Estate and a member of the Gideons International.








On March 17, 1967, he married Bonnie Lou Jones in Kansas City, Missouri.

Norman is survived by his wife, Bonnie; one daughter, Kelly Jack and her husband, Eric, of Bolivar, Missouri; two sons, Dale Jones and his wife, Saunda, of Mt. Vernon and Doug Wilks and his wife, Angie, of Strafford, Missouri; three brothers, Jessie Jones and his wife, Terry, of Amarillo, Texas, Ross Jones of Kansas City, Missouri and Gary Jones and his wife, Donna, of Lockwood, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Kasey and her husband, Scott and their children, Karter, Kamryn, Sydnee and Shaelyn, Kelsey and her children, Kohen, Kooper and Raelee, Kinzi and her husband, Tanner and their children, Blakely and Beckett, Kendra and her husband, Eli and their children, Abriella and Piper, Kaden, Trae, Ashley and her husband, Jacob and Addie.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Ellen; stepmother, Beulah; mother-in-law, Vera Jones; three brothers, Gary, Danny and Larry Jones; foster parents, Eleanor and Lindsey Watson and four foster brothers, Harold, Melvin and Donald Watson.

A visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery.
