Bill Flick

William Wayne “Bill” Flick of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed into Glory on May 27, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born to Glen Harold Jones and Hattie Mae (Crowder) Jones in Pittsburg, KS, on May 12, 1940.

Orphaned at a very young age, he was adopted by Arthur Reynolds Flick and Petra Cathie (Sweeney) Flick in 1944 at the age of four-and-a-half. He attended and graduated from school at Lewis, KS, before enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he served our nation for four years stationed in Korea. 








He worked the first half of his adult life for the Farmer’s Union Co-Op/Farmland Industries in Zenith, KS; Hebron, NE; Wahoo, NE; Ogalala, NE and Carlton, KS, in several capacities, and spent the last 21 years of his working career serving the City of Lewis as the Chief of Police before his retirement. Bill was a dedicated Boy Scout – earning the Order of the Arrow and serving as Scout Master for several years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid life-long hunter and fisherman. His greatest joy in life – serving the Lord, started in Sunday School at the Lewis Christian Church when he was told for the first time that Jesus loves him.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father; first wife, Opal June (Sack) Flick; daughter, Christian Joy Flick; stepson, Ricky Lynn Hudson; daughter, Cheryl Varelman; son, William W. Flick II; and son-in-law, Richard Cain.

He is survived by his wife, Delila Marie (Campbell) Flick of the home; sister, Nina (Bruce) Dozier of Bella Vista, AR; children, Elizabeth (Beth) Yvonne (Richard) Cain of Topeka, KS; adopted son, Nicholas Ray (MaryJane) Leach Flick; Ginger (Bill II, deceased) Flick of Andalusia, AL; LeeAnn (Will) Goodman of Dodge City, KS; Rebecca (Jim) Elston of Millington, TN; stepsons, Melvin (Yvonne) Hudson, Jr. of Midland, AR and Larry (Sandy) Hudson of Carthage, MO; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.








A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Highland Christian Church, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715.

A memorial service in Lewis, KS, before inurnment, is being planned for a later date and will be posted with information accordingly.
