(From Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home)Roger Linn Sumners, 74, of Carthage, Missouri entered into eternal rest on Friday May 31, 2024 while at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He was born on October 20, 1949 in Aurora, Missouri; the son of the late Carl and Virginia (Feaster) Sumners. He was united in marriage on March 25, 2008 to Winnie Ragain; she survives.
He was a retired farmer and a veteran of the United States Marine Corp; serving his country during the Vietnam War.
Roger is survived by his wife Winnie of the home; two sisters: Linda Johnson of Marionville, Missouri and Reta Michel of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Virginia; two sons Jason Sumners and Naaman McCullah and one brother Jerry Sumners Sr.
Memorial service arrangements are pending and will be released upon completion.
