Bob Bradford

Robert “Bob” Bradford, age 68, of Joplin, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Bob was born December 14, 1955 in Bartlesville, OK, son of the late G.M. Bradford and Shirley Mann Bradford Monroe. Bob married Janet Dearing Bradford on September 22, 1977.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Bradford, and daughters, Misty Michelle Bradford of Joplin, and Margaret “Peggy” Self and husband Bill of Carthage, MO. Bob had six grandchildren: Korina, Ashley, Payton and wife Victoria Self, and Rachel, Jonathan, and David Patterson: great-granddaughter, Jade Elizabeth Self; and nephew, Sean Bradford and wife Malayla of Joplin, MO.








In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by daughter, Barbara Smith-Bradford of Iola, KS, and brother, Doug Bradford.

Bob moved to Joplin during adolescence and graduated from Memorial High School. He later graduated from the Police Academy at MSSU. Bob retired from O’Reilly Auto Parts in 2023 with over 20 years of service. He was an active member of Royal Heights Baptist Church and served at Friendship Baptist Church. He volunteered his time with Hospice Compassus and Souls Harbor. Bob loved God, his family, and the community and will be incredibly missed by everyone who knew him.








Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Royal Heights Baptist Church of Joplin. Funeral services to follow at 10:00 a.m. with Pastors Jack Daniels, John Johnson, and Josh Branham officiating. 

He will be placed in eternal rest in Osborne Memorial Cemetery by Bill Self, David Patterson, Jonathan Patterson, Sean Bradford, Erin Campbell, William Glander, Daniel Gurley, and Honorary Pallbearer, Lynn Snapp.
