Brenda Rea

(From Midland Cremation Society)

Brenda Louise Rea, 62, of Neosho, MO gained her wings on September 4, 2024 after a lengthy illness.

Brenda was born May 18, 1962 in Bitburg, Germany to Norman Rawls McClain Jr. and Erika Luise (Baum) McClain. She married the love of her life Patrick Wayne Rea on June 22, 2005 on the “Ol’ Hitchin Post” at their home surrounded by family and friends.

Brenda had many occupations through the years but her greatest accomplishment was being a wife, a mother, and “Nana.” Brenda made friends no matter where she was and always had a kind heart towards others. She was known for her love of Elvis Presley, collecting lighthouses, and listening to 90’s country music. Brenda enjoyed writing, playing card games, board games, doing puzzles, diamond art, quilting, crafting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

Brenda is survived by her husband Patrick Rea and six children: Allen Romero, of Madisonville, KY; Mallory Rea of Beaufort, SC; Justin Rea and wife, Kimberly of Joplin, MO; Michael Marchbanks of Carthage, MO; Brandi Stephens and husband, Cody of Granby, MO; and Johnny Rea, of Joplin, MO. She is survived by 16 grandkids: Harmony, Abigale, Christopher, Ahriyana, Melody, Nevaeh, Hunter, Jordyn, Morgan, Addisyn, Peyton, Shaylee, Braxton, and Jaxton. She is also survived by her sisters: Jeanette Overton of Chesapeake, VA; Carol Skeels of Carthage, MO; Roberta McClain of Carthage, MO; and Michele Langley of Newport News, VA, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by both of her parents Norman and Erika, mother-in-law Norma June Powers, sister-in-law Barbara Walker, sister-in-law and her best friend Debby Pearson, son-in-law Curtis Ramirez, and two grandsons, Avery and Karter Rea.

She will forever be in our hearts for the different impacts she made in each of our lives. The family will hold a Celebration of Life in her honor on Saturday September 14, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Granby Annex in Granby, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that any donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her and her mother’s name.
