Muriel Hale, age 99, of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 following a decline in health.
She was born August 17, 1917 in Three Brothers, Arkansas to Jess and Florence (Harper) Mahan.
Muriel was a school teacher and a secretary at Tri-State Building and Supply in Pittsburg, Kansas, but spent most of life as a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting.
She married Landon Hale on June 9, 1939 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death in May 2007.
Muriel is survived by two daughters, Nadine Bryant and husband, Charles, of Carl Junction, Missouri, and Imogene Bryant and husband, Earl, of Springfield, Missouri; two grandsons, Jeff Bryant of Pittsburg, Kansas and Monty Bryant, Asbury, Missouri; and four siblings, Charles Mahan and wife, Carlene, Wanda Byron, and Winonah Henning, all of Gainesville, Missouri, and Mary Lou Meyer of Hayward, California.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Morris Cleveland officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home, Webb City, Missouri.
