Gordon Kurtz Knight, 94, of Monett entered into eternal rest on Monday February 5, 2018 while staying at Lacoba Home in Monett, Missouri. He was born in Gooding, Idaho on February 5, 1924; the son of the late Myron and Matilda (Colson) Knight. He was united in marriage on July 15, 1944 in Washington D.C. to his first wife Arvilla Zelch ; she preceded him in death on November 10, 1992. He was then united in marriage on August 9, 1993 to Marion Young; she survives.
He was the retired owner of Monett Floral and Monett Wholesale Greenhouse in Monett, a veteran of the United States Navy serving his country during World War II and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Monett and the Monett Lions Club.
Gordon is survived by one son: Mike Knight of Monett; two step-sons: Steve Hawkins and John Hawkins both of Wentworth, Missouri; one daughter: Patty Gripka of Monett; one step-daughter: Diana Haneline of Granby, Missouri; one sister: Deloris Robinson of Gooding, Idaho; eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Private family services are being held at a later date.
Memorial donations for Gordon may be made to the Gordon Knight Living Memorial.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri.
