Mary Lou Borushaski, age 89, of Wheaton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Medicalodges Neosho in Neosho, Missouri.
She was born June 30, 1928 in Wheaton, Missouri the daughter of John Loyd and Vergie (Cartwright) Ghan. On August 25, 1945 she was united in marriage to Clarence (CJ) Borushaski, who preceded her in death on September 8, 2016. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Wayne Ghan.
Surviving are three sons, Gary Borushaski and his wife Kathy of Monett, Missouri, Ron Borushaski and his wife Patty of Neosho, Missouri and Dan Borushaski and his wife Linda of Carthage, Missouri; a half-sister, Royetta Akin of Monett, Missouri; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Mary Lou attended Truman High School in Independence, Missouri and Wheaton High School in Wheaton, Missouri. Mary and CJ lived in Drexel Missouri where they farmed and she owned and operated Mary’s Drive Inn. In 1967, after their three sons joined the military, they moved back to Wheaton to continue farming for the next 30 years. For several years she worked at a garment factory in Pierce City and then the local grocery store in Wheaton. One of Mary Lou’s joys was playing the piano for the Wheaton United Methodist Church, in which she was a member. The joys of her life were her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her, especially her smile.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 5, 2018 at Wheaton United Methodist Church under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Reverend Roger McKee will conduct the services. Burial will be at Muncie Chapel Cemetery in Wheaton.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
