Marie R. Lea, age 95 of Duenweg, Mo. passed away early Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Lacoba Homes in Monett, following an illness.
Marie was born on October 2, 1918, in Tar River, Ok., the daughter of George and Elsie (Hitt) Ball. She has been an area resident for most her life, where she spent her days as a homemaker, loving and caring for her family. Marie was also a Sunday School Teacher at Duenweg Baptist Church for over 60 years.
She married Willard Lea on July 7, 1938, he preceded her in death on February 26, 1985. Marie is survived by her son; Glenn Lea of Joplin, Mo., a sister; Mildred Keith of Goodman, Mo., 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 at Duenweg Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Diamond Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made out to Duenweg Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
