Walter Joseph Pfisterer, a life-long resident of Joplin, Missouri died at the age of 89 at the Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. Mr. Pfisterer passed away at 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 after a long illness.
Born May 11, 1924 in Joplin, he was the son of the late Walter F. and Margaret Hennessy Pfisterer. Mr. Pfisterer was a US Army veteran of World War II. After the war, he worked in the auto sales industry.
Survivors include his brother, Robert Pfisterer of Niantic, CT, his nieces, Laura Minatti of Guilford, CT, Margaret (Peg) Roberts of Marietta, GA and a nephew David M. Pfisterer of Mystic, CT.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Mortuary. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project in care of the mortuary.
