Patricia Ann Shelby, age 70, of Carl Junction, Mo. passed away at 3:18 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at her home following a short illness. Patricia was born April 9, 1943 in Joplin, Mo. and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life. She worked for the Community Blood Center for 12 years, and formerly worked 10 years for the American Red Cross.
She married Larry Shelby June 16, 1961 in Joplin. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2012. She is survived by three sons, Keith Shelby and wife Crystal, Carl Junction, Mo., Scott Shelby, Joplin, and David Shelby and wife Kristi, Fruita, Colo., one daughter, Cheryl Shelby, Carl Junction, her Mother, Helen Moorehead, Joplin, two brothers, Corky Moorehead and wife Diana, Joplin, and Billy Moorehead, Carl Junction, three sisters, Sally Loyd and Norma English and husband Tony, all of Joplin, and Elaine Harding and husband Tom, Carl Junction, and nine grandchildren; Christian Shelby, Kaitlyn Shelby, Jordan Shelby, Gabrielle Shelby, Lucah Shelby, Lyndsie Lorton-Shelby, Zach Shelby, Cameron Burrows, and Alex Burrows.
Patricia will be cremated. A memorial visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Monday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
