Ivan Wayne Skelton, age 55, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at home after a sudden illness.
Wayne was born February 13, 1958 in Joplin, son of the late Ivan James Skelton and Mary Irene Thomas Skelton. He attended Parkwood High School, and worked in home construction in the Joplin area most of his adult life.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by a wife, Betty Johnson Morris; and a brother, Larry Skelton.
Survivors include a son, Donnie Skelton and Skye of Joplin; step-children, Randall Morris of Joplin, Renee Morris Wheeler and husband Shawn of Webb City, and Steven Morris and Kenna of Everton, Missouri; a brother, Gary Skelton and Karen of Joplin; grandchildren, Samantha, Christian, Seth, Taylor, Emily, Payton, Hannah, Isaac, Mason, and Noah; great-grandchild, Raeleigh.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. Inurnment of his ashes will occur at a later date in Fairview Cemetery.
