Chase Montgomery Witt, 22, of Carterville, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 6:28 p.m. at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He was born October 6, 1997, to mother, Christine Witt, and father, David Hartman. Chase was a 2016 graduate of Webb City High School.
Chase lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; shooting hoops, spending time with friends and family. He had an uncanny ability to reach people in such a deep and positive way. Chase lived life with a smile and a laughter that melted any heart. He radiated love everywhere he went. His biggest loves of all were his boys. They would just radiate love too when dad walked in the room.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Hartman, of Carterville; and his grandmother, Theresa Witt, of Carterville.
Survivors include his two sons, Morgan Montgomery Witt (2 yrs old) and Miles John Witt (6 months); his mother, Christine Covert, of Carterville; his sisters, Courtney Howard of Joplin, Karlie Witt of Carterville, Harlie Witt of Carterville and Jade Hartman of Carthage; his grandfather, Jack Witt, of Carterville; aunts and uncles and cousins.
Chase was a very strong believer in being a donor and so he was honored with that wish. He has given a better life to many people with his gift. His legacy will go on.
The family will hold a memorial service on Friday, May 8, 2020. Services will start at 5:00 p.m. at the Mining Days Amphitheater in Webb City with Pastor Morris Cleveland officiating. Dinner will follow.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
