James D. “Jim” Harl, age 65, of Webb City, MO, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Freeman Hospital, following an illness.
Jim was born on October 3, 1954 in Joplin, MO, the son of the late William and Helen (Caughran) Harl.
He married Rebecca Capp on December 1, 1973 in Webb City, MO. Together they raised three sons. Jim traveled the US working as a network technician for AT&T. He retired in 2013 and moved back to Joplin. He was a Catholic. He loved riding motorcycles and watching baseball. He enjoyed taking trips with his sons going to baseball games and riding rollercoasters. He loved traveling with his wife to European countries researching family history.
He is survived by wife of forty-six years, Rebecca Harl; three sons, Drew Harl, Kansas City, MO, Brent Harl, Joplin, and Brock Harl, Evergreen, CO; one sister, Sharon Walker and husband Delmer, Oklahoma City, OK; a sister-in-law, Sue Harl, Arlington, TX; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Harl.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Carl Junction Cemetery. The family visitation will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to JDRF Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in care of the mortuary
